Crossing over to the North bank via Barra we will make a stop at the Farafenni market, visit the historical stone circles in Wassu for an in-depth information on its history before cruising down the river where we might be lucky to see hippos and crocodiles.
Baboon Island is our first stop after lunch looking out for chimpanzees that live on the reserve after which accommodation awaits in a well-equipped camp of Jangjanbureh. You’ll get pleasant distractions during breakfast as the monkeys try to share your meal in the morning. We will then visit the former capital city of the Gambia (Georgetown). En route back home we will make a stop at one local school as well as a traditional Gambian family, the head to the place dubbed as the bird watchers paradise in Tendaba in Kiang West National Park.
